The story that really grabbed my attention was Heavenly Beings: Susanoo and Orochi. This story was well thought out and very well put together. The way the story used dialogue made it very easy to follow. The story is very descriptive when describing the fish monster, and has great imagery such as red as a "ripe mountain cherry" when talking about the monsters red eyes. This story really did a good job at keeping the readers attention , and is something i will be trying to do when i am writing my first stories. (Image above is of the fight with the monster. Week 8 comments and feedback

I believe that the comment portion of this class is very useful wen thinking of future story topics. It allows you to see how other students interpret your story and how you might change them accordingly. The comments I have received have been very useful when editing my stories and portfolio. I believe the comments I have been leaving on my peer’s pages are very beneficial to their story’s improvement. I do believe this is giving me some connection to my peers in this class. I might be a little more critical on my future comments. but that is just a thought. (I thought this picture was very funny, Source: Cats )

Reading Notes: The Monkey and the Girl

The story I chose to read for today's reading notes was TheMonkey and the Girl . This story came from the Santal Folklore section. In the story there was a girl that fell for a monkey. But the girls parents did not approve of this so they killed the monkey. The dad decided to burn the monkey like the corpse of a man. The girl was watching and distracted everyone standing around and then blinded them with sand. When they were clearing their eyes the girl jumped in the fire and burned with the monkey. So the plot I took away with this story was that doing a quick fix to a problem will backfire in the end. And this plot if from the perspective of the dad losing the daughter in the end.
